The name “marble” originates from the ancient Greek verb “Marmairo”, meaning “TO SHINE”.

Carrara marble has been used since the time of Ancient Rome. The Pantheon and Trajan’s Column in Rome are constructed of it, and many sculptures of the Renaissance were carved from it.
Carrara C has more white value than the type CD.

Carrara CD - Poco Vecchio finish

This marble was well known since Roman times due to its rarity.
Breccia Capraia or Fior di Pesco Classico Apuano. A Tuscan quarry in the heart of the Apuan Alps, in the province of Massa-Carrara, between mounts Altissimo and Carchio. There, nature created a stunning white marble with rarely coloured long vains, accents & structure combinations.
In the 15th century, the powerful Medici family, appreciated this marble so much, they used it to embellish Florence during the Renaissance period.
*Every block of this marble will be unique because of the long vains and so many different coloured details. Pictures are available on demand of our current block(s) of Breccia Capraia.

Blue limestone of Hainaut - Blue flamed
OUTDOOR & INDOOR
A Belgian limestone of approximately 350 million years old, used for multiple indoor and outdoor purposes, showing very appealing grain markings and crinoid fossils, skeletons of ancient marine animals.
We recommend this stone for outdoor usage because of the difference in darkness of surface and mass. See our Marble Methodology at the bottom of this page.
We like this slightly rough and light blue finish because on a table, lime attacks and scratches will be more difficult to detect and thus won’t disturb users.
Because of the rain, possible stains from the last bbq season will be vanished before the next season starts.

Mediterranean Green - Flamed & Brushed
OUTDOOR & INDOOR
Quarried in the north of Turkey, Mediterranean Green is a very hard type of Limestone, with very similar characteristics of Belgian Blue Limestone, that is filled with even more visible crinoïd fossils, skeletons of ancient marine animals. In this stone, 75% of the fossils are still intact!
This light beige, light grey & light green color in a flamed surface finish, offers optimal practicality. Users will be delighted with a satin gloss patina effect and won’t be disturbed by stains or scratches easily. Besides, in outdoor usage, the rain will remove any stains before the next season starts.

Characteristics & Maintenance
It’s a living thing!
The most attractive designing stone thanks to a swirl of gorgeous visible details, veins and colour varieties. Mineral ‘impurities’ that used to be just grains or layers in the earth, mobilized and recrystallized over the course of millions of years.
Marble is not a scientific word but in reality, marble is a hard crystalline metamorphic form of limestone.
HAVANI’s MARBLE METHODOLOGY
- Old but strong
Only hard marbles are selected at Havani because their structure offers greater compactness and fewer porosity, making them more suitable for furniture tops. These are rocks that are approximately over 200 million years old. - White & beige
We avoid dark marbles for indoor use because the rock’s inside colour often differs from the surface colour in terms of darkness, making scratches immediately visible as well as lime attack stains that transform into a lighter colour than the surface. Dark marbles are good to look at, but not to consume or ‘work’ on. - Zero polished
We don’t recommend polished surfaces on marble tabletops or kitchen worktops because one, the polish will fade. Two, the product to impregnate the rock that must protect it cannot enter the pores fluently and three, marble already shines and will gain more ‘satin gloss’ over time due to the patination effect. Polished marbles are good to look at but not to consume or ‘work’ on. - Feel-me texture
Havani also offers unique ‘slightly textured’ surface finishes, making our white and beige marbles even more usable because scratches and lime attacks become as good as invisible. A unique feel-me texture also adds a very stylish character to the design and an increased urge to touch it. - Nanotech
Recent implemented nanotechnology in impregnation products now better protect marble of discolouring due to the exposure of acids. Products were already water and fat repellent in the past but colourful stains due to lime attacks were more likely to occur before. - Patination
After some time, a beautiful ‘satin gloss’ will appear on the honed surface from usage, comparable to that of a used natural parquet floor. Even small dull spots from lime attacks that weren’t cleaned in time, that became visible in the flood light, will become invisible over time from daily usage.
Indoor usage only.
MAINTENANCE:
Our marbles are protected by Lithofin Nanotop.
